The door closed silently behind Caitlin as she left Tony, departing to who knew where. Once she had gone the entrance she had used dissolved entirely into a dark brick wall. The room he was in was large and filled with shelves filled with books, magical artifacts, a row of skulls each less humanoid than the one before it. Tony's attention was drawn to a hammer that sat upon a large chunk of stone. He definitely recognized it. As he read the first words upon it's description a voice called out interrupting his train of thought.

"Mjolnir does not concern you Anthony. You are not worthy." it was a slow, yet piercing voice, one that commanded respect.

After taking the time to get a good surveillance of the room, Tony looked to the voice. Past the shelves, candelabras, and mythical statues, up a dozen steps of stone on an elevated throne sat a figure wearing a golden helmet, blue tunic, and red cloak. A cloak that Tony had seen many times.

"Strange...?" he asked as he walked to the steps.

"Not quite." said the helmeted figure as he rose into the air and descended onto the ornate circular carpet that covered the whole elevated platform. "I am Dr.-"

"Strangefate." cut in Tony with a hard look. "Like the combined worlds, you are Dr. Strange and Dr. Fate all at once." The bound Tony glared unblinkingly into the blue eyes in the golden helmet.

"I see you have been talking to Access." came Strangefate's cool and collected reply. "And it is clear you did not pay close enough attention. But it does not matter. With you here I shall have at least one of the three."

After blinking a few times and logging down what was just said Tony blurted out "You know you're nuts, right? I know how you forced the worlds to merge, I know how you think you're some kind of God of that world, and I know what it's going take to stop you. And that's a line I'm willing to cross." With each word Tony got angrier and louder. How was it anyone's place to dictate someone's existence to their personal liking?

After the first few words Dr. Strangefate turned his back to Tony, his arms lifted into the air, a magic aura shining about his hands. "Then you know that you were not the only candidate for this." said Strangefate as a portal opened and an unconscious man with dark hair slumped forward out of it, bound exactly like Tony. The same red shackle kept his hands restrained.

"Who is that?" Tony asked surprised at the sudden emergence of the man, who was clad in a black sweater and matching slacks.

"This is Bruce Wayne. The bindings of Cyttorak are quite helpful in preventing you from being a threat and the same goes for Mr. Wayne as well. I ascertained that you would be easier to obtain than he was, but I was wrong. You see Anthony that is part of the reason why I chose you above all others. In this new world one of my champions must always remember their own humanity. For Batman that is simple enough, and for Iron Man, despite the changes you made to your interior physical biology which made you difficult to capture, you are just as close to humanity as he is."

Tony stared at Bruce Wayne lying upon the elegantly decorated rug. According to the information given to him by Access, this Batman was a central part of both Access and Strangefate's plans the last time the Brothers and worlds merged.

"So this is it." Tony said crisp and clearly. "You are going to force Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark into one being just because you think it's right." Tony spoke as if he was trying to ensure someone would hear, without error, what he was saying.

Dr. Strangefate's eyes peered at Tony through the mask, trying see past the windows that were Anthony Stark's eyes.

Tony gave a smug grin. "Something wrong?"

Though his penetrating voice was still slow, there was a slight agitation to it that was barely audible. "Whatever game you think you are playing Anthony, I assure you that none of this matters to you anymore." Raising both his gloved hands, his fingers aligned strangely, and mystical power flew from them. One ray of energy went to Bruce and the other straight to Tony. Both screamed instantly, Bruce snapping awake from his unconscious state.

Their cries were not that of pain, but that of discovering a truth. A truth that denied everything one's life had been. The mystical energies that covered them both came into contact, forcing both men to wrapped in a blinding light that illuminated the entirety of the large room, not a single shadow was to be had.

After the blinding light had disappeared Dr. Strangefate looked down at the man, magic evaporating from his very body. Laying there was someone who looked like Anthony Stark, but also like Bruce Wayne; wearing a black sweater and blue jeans.

After a mental command, the door to the room rematerialized and opened. An older man with white hair dressed appropriately to the atmosphere of the Tower entered with a bow.

"Yes Lord Strangefate?"

"Myx, pull Caitlin away from her search. Inform her that the Iron Bat is ready."

"Consider it done." said Myx as he snapped his fingers and disappeared.

Dr. Strangefate looked down. "One down. Still two left. After that the completion of my world will come about much sooner."
