2nd Annual Charity Carnival and Celebrity Date Auction!
Who: Everyone
What: 2nd Annual Carnival and Date Auction Charity Benefit
When: the week of July 4th
Where: Gotham
Interactions: OPEN
Warnings: This is an open event thread. Thread jacking, hopping, character romance, violence, and any and all things in between are possible. (But if you're going to do some private intimate things please make a separate thread about it)
The first most noticeable thing was the lights. In a perpetually dreary place like Gotham they could stay on no matter the time of day, casting a warm glow all about the streets and parks that had been connected to create the Charity Carnival. The streets were opened up during the day so that people could get to and from work, then in the evening they were blocked off so that pedestrians could meander about freely withoiut worrying about the cross walks. But whether in cars or on foot; they could always see the lights.
In the inter connected parks scattered around the Wayne Resilient tower there were myriad attractions:
Boothes where games could be played for prizes,
Rides,
Foods of all kinds (mostlly either fried or sugar coated),
and even a small section where locals had rented tables to sell arts and crafts that had been hand made.
And at the center of it all was the Wayne Resilient tower which contained a 5 star restaurant that was the staging area for the Celebrity Date Auction to be held later in the week.
Even the first two floors of the building had been repurposed into a kind of exhibit featuring current and upcoming Waynetech devices designed to improve the lives of the people who used them. Including the prototype for a brand new line of Waynetech smart cars. The event was in honor of the 4th of July but the entire week had been scheduled and included things like live music, fire breathers, gymnasts and a petting zoo.
And on the night of the 4th of course; a fantastic fireworks display arranged by Wayne Resilient with another new innovation of theirs; safe fireworks. Specially designed for sound and color and burst with no heat behind it to endanger fireworks handlers or civilians.
With everything that had been planned and all the staffing involved it was truly looking to be a week to remember.

For a moment she attempted to imagine what an androgynous voice would sound like but found that to be a difficult task indeed. She let the thought go with a slight shake of her head. Of course at this point the woman had become more than accustomed to having her appearance looked over; usually with [an attempt] to be covert. She let the look slide for the time being. Kara was more curious about where they were going anyway.
"I believe I've learned enough about the car for now." She told him with a smile. Although she was interested in the power source and embarrassingly enough; color options. "So I believe Business should be the order of the day-er...night." The woman gave a slight chuckle and then a short cough to recompose herself. As they hit the road the ride was incredibly smooth and before long she could see the lights of the carnival rides ahead. Well, she could see them behind and to the side as well. Having such a vast area was impressive as well and she could see (really, literally see) that much of Gotham had turned out for the event.

"What are your expectations for Starrware from our possible future business dealings? Expansion? Fiscal profit? Exposure? Ideas?" Tony asked curiously as the a different song came on. "On the other hands, what do you expect from Resilient?"

"We are most definitely interested in ideas. My company wants to create and help build technology that is not only safe but even beneficial to the environment while improving the lives of the people who use them." She thought for a moment wondering if that sounded too rehearsed. Well she couldn't take the statement back now. "As for my expectations; there are resources that your company has access to that are beyond our means at the moment. And I believe that we have some things that you could benefit from as well." With that statement, Kara reached into her purse and removed a small bottle filled with a shimmering, silver-gray liquid that most other engineers could only dream of seeing in their lifetime; the gray goo.

“Really good.” said Tony distantly as he looked at the lights of the large celebration in Karen's side mirror. With the car stopped at the red light Tony drummed his thumbs on the steering wheel in thought. His eyes shifted from the bucket of ice containing the two bottles, to Karen to the bottle, and finally to the barely visible Resilient behind them.
"Yeah, let's do that." Tony announced the last of his unsaid thought and he swerved into the right lane to turn towards the powered down ferris wheel on the empty outskirts, where the lights barely lit the area. When the car stopped in front the still ferris wheel, Tony opened his door and grabbed the cold bucket.
"Come on." he said with a boyish grin.

Even as she pointed the mess out Kara was already trying to work out in her mind how she could get away from him long enough to get suited up and over to the disturbance. Most of her plans relying on a man's mistaken desire to protect someone he sees as vulnerable. With any luck he would tell her to 'stay there' while he headed towards the conflict to 'check things out'.
Fingers crossed, anyway. From where she was standing the blond woman could already see another metahuman engaging the giant redhead.
