The body had re-animated and Deadpool was grabbed by the throat. The body rose, somehow appearing at least twice as massive as it had been.
Maxx jumped through the portal and swiped his claws against the guard, who was now very obviously some sort of mechanical man. He clawed at the golem's back, then grabbed his head and twisted.
